  • The large sticks of PLA have too much mass to melt sufficiently fast in the gun's heat chamber to keep up with your extrusion rate. You're better off opening the housing and installing a metal tube (perhaps a cutoff from a stainless steel straw) into the heat chamber to narrow the bore with a screw or two to hold it in place and using the spooled filament.

  • As a bored 10 year old, I remember really wanting a 3D pen, but my parents said I had to wait for my birthday, which was months away and being the impatient child I was, cut the long part of a plastic clothing hanger and stuck it in a hot glue gun, I remember being so surprised that it worked, but I could never use that hot glue gun for anything else ever again!

  • I like my 3d printing pen, but it's just not in the shape of gun....and I'd like to remove the ability to dial in the temperature accurately...and I definitely don't want a consistent feed rate driven by a motor...and if possible it shouldn't be able to do this detailed of work...and how about a forearm workout mixed in...
